Gallery and workshop for art, crafts and bits and pieces
The Chunschtgädi, which once served as a pigsty, is located in the historic village centre of Bellwald in the Upper Valais of Switzerland. A dendrochronological study found that its oldest beams date from 1720. With its internal dimensions of two times 14.5 cubic metres (two floors), it is probably one of the smallest shopping galleries in Switzerland.
The Chunschtgädi was converted between 2011 and 2013 and now serves mainly as a studio for literature, arts and crafts and also as a sales room. It sells works of art, handicrafts, jewellery, paintings, drawings, photographic prints, decorative items, textiles such as tablecloths, place mats with various motifs (PVC), art cards, books (new and antiquarian), wooden sculptures, souvenirs, small antiques, wall clocks and gifts of all kinds.
