Black Trail "National

There are two words to best describe the black trail at Bikepark Bellwald: fast and flowy. The trail is not black because of technically difficult passages. The difficulty of the trail lies mainly in the challenging traverses and the high level of concentration needed to stay focused at the relatively high speed.

The descent starts directly at the middle station and leads on 100 percent natural ground through open meadows and forest passages. Again and again, the rider encounters interesting key sections such as the "Lucien Combo" through the Mutschlucht gorge or the "Todesfall" rock garden.

The trail is called "National" because the Swiss Championships were held on it the year after it opened in 2005. Since then, the trail has served as a popular race track for up to 400 downhillers at the iXS Downhill Cup in October. Despite the more than ten years of existence of this downhill, the quality and riding fun can be ensured by qualified maintenance work until today.

We wish everyone a lot of fun, courage and prudence on the classic in the Bikepark Bellwald.

Since 2006, young locals have realized a dream with a lot of heart and commitment. What was dismissed at the beginning as crazy and at best smiled at, today generates an indispensable customer segment that enlivens the entire station in summer. Bellwald has established itself beyond the country's borders with its bike park. The dream of yesteryear has become an integral part of Bellwald today.

The innovative spirit of the pioneering work of that time is to be consistently continued today and also in the future. Today, various interest groups work hand in hand to maintain, optimize and further develop the existing offer. This in order to meet the demands of our bikers, but also of ourselves. Built up and maintained by the Oberwalliser Downhillclub GAB, the maintenance and marketing has meanwhile been taken over by the Bike Park Bellwald association.

As in the beginning, our downhill guests can look forward to an intensively maintained and safe track every day.

On the first weekend in October, the Upper Valais will again be completely infected by the downhill virus! At the final run to the race series iXS Downhill Cup we expect again 350 racers, many teams and cozy parties among friends. After the training on Friday, the race weekend is really rung in!
