127 km and 4,700 spectacular metres of elevation between glaciers, countless 4000 m peaks and the fascinating mysticism of centuries-old mountain villages - only to be found in the Stoneman Glaciara.
4,700 metres of elevation, 27 billion tons of ice: Switzerland's Stoneman Glaciara is Roland Stauder's new mountain bike adventure.
The route leads in three well-balanced stages up to the Great Aletsch Glacier - the most powerful ice stream in the Alps - and back to Mörel. The Königsanstieg is an ascent of almost 1,600 m, an old military road leading steeply up to the Breithorn pass at 2,451 m. Then comes the descent into the Binntal valley. Following the Rhone all the way to Obergoms, the route passes through the heart of mysterious, ancient villages, past historic monuments and inviting cafés.
