Beautiful hike with a highlight high above the young Rotten.

This hike has a lot to offer you.

Hike leisurely through the various hamlets in Bellwald. Along various small chapels, over hill and dale and through dreamy forests. Cross the young Rotten on the 280m long suspension bridge Goms-Bridge and reach the small village of Mühlebach, where nice pubs invite you to take a short break before continuing along the Rotten to Niederwald and from there back to Bellwald.

Safety guidelines

A hike of several hours can bring surprises and be exhausting. It is therefore advisable to bear the following points in mind:
  • The hike leads over a suspension bridge, so it is advisable to be free of giddiness and have no fear of heights. Do not overexert yourself.
  • Take regular breaks, about every 1-1½ hours and whenever your concentration begins to wane. Rest and refresh yourself with something to drink and a snack.
  • Regularly check your location and compare it with your schedule. This way you can think about alternatives, shortcuts, aborts, etc. in good time.
  • In bad weather, turn back or seek shelter in good time. If there are storm clouds, it is advisable to abort the tour as soon as possible.
  • Plan enough time and energy reserves for the ascent.
  • Let mountain bikers pass without obstructing them.
