- Destination: Ried
This panoramic circular hike starts in the sleepy hamlet of Ried, which is close to the centre of Bellwald and accessible by ski bus. The trail leads clockwise across the sunny slopes above the village. The mostly open, southwest-facing terrain offers a wide view over the Fieschertal valley and beyond.
The trail first leads up the valley and then via hairpin bends up to the Mutti viewpoint. A gentle descent leads back to Ried.
The hamlet is a relaxed walk from the centre of Bellwald (snowshoes not required). If time permits, it is worthwhile to linger here for a while: The village is one of the oldest and best preserved in the Valais and full of historical charm.
