Valais Panorama Bike (VPB) - stage 3

The day begins with a tour of the village of Bellwald, with its sun-tanned wooden facades of old granaries and dwellings. If necessary, make a pit stop at the local bikeshop. Then take the chairlift up to an altitude of around 2,100 metres to the Bellwald bike park, where fun trails and natural singletrails await you. As today's stage is fairly short, you’ll have time for a second descent from Flesche or Bidmere, at an altitude of 2,562 metres. After your adrenalin rush at the bike park and a lunch break on a sunny terrace in Bellwald, follow a singletrack on the south-western slope and a forest ridge to Fürgangen historic Wagenstrasse to cross the Twingi Gorge. Temporary art exhibitions line this stretch, which takes you to the wild, romantic village of Binn, your destination for the day.

Directions

This leg starts at the bottom station of the Richinen chairlift and leads to the "Into the wild" trail in the Bellwald bike park. Follow it and, shortly before reaching the bottom station, turn right towards Ried. Pass through the hamlet and turn right at junction 1549 onto a single track leading to Egga, a hamlet through which you pass while heading south on the single track. At the St-Anna chapel, turn right onto the Fürganerweg. After approx. 1.2 km, rejoin the main road and ride past the Fürgangen railway station to the suspension bridge. Cross Mühlebach and Ernen and follow the main road to Lätzes Üsserbi. Here, fork right onto a country lane which becomes a single track. After a few metres on the main road, turn right before the Binntal tunnel towards the Twingi Gorge. The old dirt road to Binn winds its way up the valley until the reservoir comes into view. From here, take the main road briefly back to Binn, your destination for the day.
