Brig Simplon

The Brig Simplon region stretches from the picturesque town of Brig up to the barren high mountain landscape on the Simplon Pass and on to Gondo on the Italian border. There are exciting contrasts between Brig, with its 13,000 inhabitants, where business tourism also plays a role, and the rural areas, which focus on holiday tourism. In summer, the Stockalperweg, which leads from Brig over the Simplon Pass to Gondo and Domodossola (I), is considered the "connecting element" between town, country and mountain. The highlight of Brig is the magnificent Stockalper Castle and the shops and cafés that invite you to linger in the old town. The areas above: Rosswald, Rothwald and Simplon are suitable for hiking in summer and for indulging in winter sports in the cold season.
