The Gommer Höhenweg is one of the best-known high altitude hikes in Switzerland. It was opened in 1976 and leads from Bellwald via Münster VS to Oberwald. The highest point is Reckingerbach at around 1800 m. The path leads high above the Goms through forests, lush alpine meadows, and barren rocky landscapes. With the JST Mountain Drive, cerebral palsy guests can now experience part of this beautiful hiking trail.

Directions
To experience the hike, we recommend following the trail past Kinderlang in Gassen. Passing the swimming pond, continue towards Hotel Residence Edelweiss. There you cross the street and follow the hiking trail towards Gommer Höhenweg. Simply follow the path here until you reach the Cabane d'Alsace. Visitors are welcome to pause here for a moment if they wish. The same path leads back to Holzer Sport.

Directions & Parking facilities
From Sion/Sitten: After leaving the highway in Sierre, stay on the country road to Naters. Then pass through Mörel, Unterdeisch, Lax and Fiesch. After 6 km turn left towards Fürgangen. Pass through Fürgangen and follow the road to Bellwald.
From Bern: Take the highway towards Kandersteg: Exit 19 Spiez/Faulensee. Follow the signs to the Kandersteg car shuttle. After the car shuttle, drive to Gampel/Steg. At the roundabout, turn right towards Visp/Brig/Naters. Then pass through Naters, Mörel, Unterdeisch, Lax and Fiesch. After 6 km turn left towards Fürgangen. Pass through Fürgangen and follow the road to Bellwald.
From Zurich: Highway towards Gotthard. Then take the exit for the Furka Pass. You can either cross the Furka Pass (only in summer months) or take the car train in Realp. You will arrive in Oberwald. Continue driving until you pass through the Mühlebach gallery. Then turn right towards Fürgangen. Pass through Fürgangen and follow the road to Bellwald.
Bellwald has two large parking lots.
The Basper parking lot is located at the bottom of the village and is free of charge.
The second parking lot is near the valley station of the mountain railway. There are two large parking areas here, both of which are paid.
From Zurich, Bern, Basel, Geneva or Lausanne, take the SBB via Visp to Brig. In Brig, transfer to the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway and travel to the Fürgangen-Bellwald stop. There, switch to the Fürgangen cable car, which brings you directly to the village center. From the village center, a short uphill walk awaits. Simply follow the signs towards the sports field. This will take you to Holzer Sport within 10 minutes.

The Mountain Drive – Dual / Hike is an all-terrain wheelchair capable of handling slopes of up to 30 percent
Safety guidelines
The wheelchair travels at hiking speed up to a maximum of 6 km/h. It can be adjusted to the size of the user. Riders can control the Multidrive city tour Dual Hike - Level 2 / 3 themselves, or accompanying persons or parents can take over. Use of the JST Mountain Drive is at your own risk.
