About the Village
We warmly welcome you to Bellwald, a picturesque mountain village at the gateway to the Goms region in the canton of Valais. Here, you can enjoy a wide range of leisure activities: hike through the impressive Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site, explore scenic bike routes, or take your first run on freshly groomed ski slopes – Bellwald offers unforgettable experiences in a unique Alpine setting.
Situated at 1,560 metres above sea level, Bellwald is the highest municipality in the Goms region. Perched above the Rhône Valley, just north of Brig, it boasts fresh mountain air and breathtaking views. The municipality consists of five hamlets – Fürgangen, Bodmen, Eggen, Ried, and Bellwald Dorf – stretching from 1,073 metres in the valley to 3,060 metres at the summit of Setzehorn.
Each of these hamlets has its own distinctive charm. Visitors arriving by car will pass through all five before reaching Bellwald Dorf.
