Directions
After arriving by chairlift at the Alpe Furggelti, the path first leads you about 100 meters along the ski slope before you turn left onto the hiking trail. From this point, the path is entirely yours. Follow the groomed track and turn right at the fork. From here you can simply follow the path and enjoy the breathtaking panorama without any further concern. After about 50 minutes you reach the fork again. Turn right again here and return to the chairlift.

Equipment
For the hike, we recommend sturdy footwear with good tread. It is advantageous to wear warm clothing and multiple layers to be flexible to weather conditions. During the walk, you can remove layers if needed, but remember to dress warmly again for the return ride on the chairlift. Otherwise, no special equipment is required.
Directions & Parking facilities
From Sion/Sitten: After leaving the highway at Sierre, stay on the main road to Naters. Then pass through Mörel, Unterdeisch, Lax and Fiesch. After 6 km, turn left to Fürgangen. Pass through Fürgangen and follow the road to Bellwald.
From Bern: Take the highway towards Kandersteg: exit 19 Spiez/Faulensee. Follow the signs to the Kandersteg car shuttle. After the car shuttle, drive to Gampel/Steg. At the roundabout, turn right towards Visp/Brig/Naters. Then pass through Naters, Mörel, Unterdeisch, Lax and Fiesch. After 6 km, turn left to Fürgangen. Pass through Fürgangen and follow the road to Bellwald.
From Zurich: highway towards Gotthard. Then take the exit to Furka Pass. You can either cross the Furka Pass (only in summer months) or take the car train in Realp. You arrive in Oberwald. Continue until you pass through the Mühlebach gallery. Then turn right towards Fürgangen. Pass through Fürgangen and follow the road to Bellwald / Gassen.
At the valley station of Bellwald Sportbahnen AG, take both chairlifts to reach the starting point of the hike.
Bellwald has two large parking lots.
The Basper parking lot is located at the bottom of the village. This parking lot is free of charge.
The second parking lot is near the valley station of the mountain railway. Here there are two large parking areas, both of which are paid.
From Zurich, Bern, Basel, Geneva or Lausanne, take the SBB via Visp to Brig. In Brig, change to the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn and travel with it to the Fürgangen-Bellwald stop. There, change to the Fürgangen cable car, which takes you directly to the village center. From the village center, a short uphill walk awaits you. Simply follow the signs towards the sports ground. This will get you to the valley station of Bellwald Sportbahnen AG within 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can also take the sports bus which runs during the winter months.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
After a relaxed descent, a somewhat brisk ascent back to the chairlift awaits you. Take your time as you return along the path.
Safety guidelines
This hike is designed as a circular route. Please be sure to return to the middle station using the chairlift and never use the ski slope to get there.
