This sunny panoramic snowshoe route offers a wonderful setting for physical activity with a steady ascent of more than 400 meters in altitude followed by a somewhat steeper descent. The reward for the effort is princely: sublime views of two valleys and an experience in untouched nature with shady forests and sparkling snowfields.
The route starts with a gentle ascent, first between chalets, then through forest. After passing the tree line, there is a magnificent view over the Rhone Valley and the snow-covered peaks of the Binntal. The path continues over open terrain to the mountain restaurant Fleschen with its sunny terrace.
The second half of the route leads downhill over southwest-facing slopes with views of the Fiesch Valley. This section offers a wonderful view over the valley and the glittering peaks of the UNESCO World Heritage «Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch», which protects the glacier-richest region of the Alps.

Additional information
The route starts and ends at the large parking lots near the valley station of the Richenen chairlift. The first part of the path leads steadily to the northeast, first passing between chalets and then through the forest, before reaching the mountain restaurant Fleschen after a zigzag over open terrain.
Past the chairlift, the path continues westward before the descent over the slopes with views of the Fiesch Valley finally begins.
Instead of doing the entire route, you can also do only the ascent or the descent and take the other part with the chairlift.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
Take a break during the ascent through the forest. If you are very quiet, you might be lucky enough to observe the local wildlife.
