Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
Pay attention to the opening hours of the mountain lifts.
There are many traditions after successful summit ascents. One of the most beautiful is surely congratulating all your fellow mountaineers on the successful climb. Friends hug, couples kiss, men pat each other on the shoulder, and strangers shake hands. Show your companions that you are proud to have completed the route together and share your joy. It is best to capture this moment with a souvenir snapshot.
Safety guidelines
The last section on the way to the summit is very steep, and a rope is installed for easier ascent. Those who do not trust themselves for the last passage should better skip the last few meters.
A multi-hour exploration of steep and remote mountain areas can bring surprises and be strenuous. Therefore, it is advisable to observe the following points:
- Take regular breaks, about every 1-1½ hours and always when concentration begins to wane. Rest and strengthen yourself with something to drink and a small snack.
- Regularly check your location and compare it with your schedule. This way, you can timely consider alternatives, shortcuts, cancellations, etc.
- Turn back in time or seek shelter in bad weather. If thunderclouds approach, it is advisable to end the route as quickly as possible.
- Plan enough time and energy reserves for the descent.
- Avoid herds of cattle and wild animals calmly and from a sufficient distance. Keep dogs on a leash.
- If you encounter herd protection dogs, stay calm so the dog realizes you are no danger to the herd. Keep a generous distance around the herd.
- Let mountain bikers pass without hindering them.
